Eighteen new members for Open IPTV Forum in just over six months as ABox42, Axonista, BluFocus, DCC Labs, Digital TV Labs and mistserver.org join.

Following a successful IBC, the Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) is pleased to welcome set top box vendor ABox42, application developer Axonista, testing businesses BluFocus and Digital TV Labs, and technology companies DCC Labs and mistserver.org as new members. These new important contributors increase the breadth of industry support and give OIPF’s open specifications for Connected TV wider relevance within the IPTV eco-system.

The Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) announces new membership fee levels for smaller enterprises and app developers

19 March 2012 - The Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) has created a tiered membership fee structure to encourage the participation of small and medium sized businesses. In addition to the current membership fee, one new fee level set at €2,400 is available to businesses with annual revenues of less than €10M, while another fee level of €6000 targets medium-size companies with annual revenues of less than €100M.

12 March 2012 - The Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) and MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF) announce they have reached agreement to merge the assets of MPEGIF into the OIPF. The activities of the MPEG Industry Forum have reached a natural and successful conclusion with the emergence of MPEG-4 Part 10, alternatively known as H.264, as the dominant codec in next generation video technology and the proven successor to MPEG-2.

Open IPTV Forum progresses its work on Test and Certification Tools

19 May 2011 - The Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) has developed Test Specifications for products that implement the IPTV Solution Specifications and is now moving to the next phase in establishing their Certification activities. The Certification Program, which is currently under development, is essential for checking the compliance to the Specifications of products that implement the IPTV Solution Specification. The Certification Program includes the use of Test Centers executing specific test cases on a test execution environment for those products for which Certification is needed.
